Music videos go mainstream.In 1981,the U.S. videos channel MTV launched,airing ''Video killed the Radio Star'' by The Buggles and beginning an era of 24-hour-a-day music on television.With this new outlet for material,the music video would, by the mid-1980, grow to play a central role in popular music marketing.

5) How are music videos distributed and watched in the digital age?

 But in our current state of being in a digital age, it is the music and the people who create this music that seem to be feeling all the pain. As the digital age encroaches on our lives, consumers are demanding the music industry to keep up with these changes, which in turn, has led to financially devastating consequences for this industry.

6) Why was piracy (illegal downloading on the internet) a problem for the music industry?

Piracy was a big problem as it was hard to find out who had copied their song without authorisation.

They started to make products which are dedicated to music.
